In any industry, professional development and training are crucial perks that employers must provide to their employees to stay up-to-date with new technology, techniques, and skills. In the appliance industry, if companies do not offer continuing education opportunities to their workers, the company will become less and less reliable. If appliances change while repair, installation, and maintenance practices remain the same, then you, our customers, don’t receive reliable and quality service.
At Appliance Doctors, we place a high value on our workers’ and clients’ safety and satisfaction with our services. Therefore, we frequently provide great opportunities for our employees to stay current with the newest appliance models and service procedures. Continued training opportunities make us the top appliance service providers, including the best water heater replacement service providers in the Cayman Islands.
To maintain the high-quality service we provide to our valued customers, this year, we sent senior technician Johann Mowatt, a.k.a. The Gentle Giant, to the U.S. to participate in a highly-regarded professional development opportunity:
The National Appliance Service Convention
Earlier this fall, from September 30, 2019, to October 3, 2019, the National Appliance Service Convention (NASC) took place in Chicago, IL. NASC is an annual, week-long professional development conference where technicians are trained on the newest appliance models of some of the biggest names in household appliances, including Whirlpool, Samsung, Sub-Zero, and Fisher & Paykel. While attending this year’s convention, Johann took informative and hands-on training classes from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day with technicians from all over the U.S. and the Caribbean.
While there, Johann seized the opportunity to go for his… take a deep breath… Professional Service Association, Master Technician Appliance Professional Certification… Good job! He said it was the most he has ever studied in his entire life. And guess what?… He nailed it! He also took part in the trade show, where he met with various appliance manufacturers to discuss their products, new technology, and what is coming up next. When Johann returned home, he claimed that it was one of the most exceptional experiences he has ever had in the appliance industry!
We are extremely proud of Johann’s accomplishments, and we’re so happy that he’s been a part of our Appliance Doctors team for over six years now. Our continued training sets us apart from other appliance service providers and adds value to our services for our customers. We also offer training for Cayman locals to give them a chance to move into this booming industry!
